Edge

Edge is an educational foundation campaigning to raise the status of vocational and practical learning.  We're passionate about making work experience, apprenticeships and trainee schemes a route to success for young people aged 14 to 25 years old.

Edge is not against academic learning but believes there are other routes to success. We believe vocational learning should be integrated into schools, colleges and universities to enhance the lives of young people.

The 'Ice Edge' competition is designed to inspire students to focus on practical solutions for real environmental problems. Our aim is to demonstrate to students across the country the importance vocational careers will play in conservation of the environment. By working as a team and engaging in fun, innovative activities, we want students to think about laying foundations for the future such as how we can improve on the construction of homes and cities, adapt travel and communications technology, all with a view to saving the planet.
